Club Rules

 

WHY is Membership needed?

Skandinavia Benelux Bridgefriend Club  is a friendship club for good bridge among friends. Only registered members are allowed to join our tournaments, team matches, gatherings, and other activities arranged by the club.  It is not possible to have an anonym identity in the club. The club rules are based on general GOOD BEHAVIOUR and POLITENESS in attitude.

 

WHO can become a member of our friendship club?

Only players from the Scandinavian and Benelux countries  can become a members directly (direct member). (Norway, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and Denmark are the only countries belonging to Scandinavia and BeNeLux). Players from other countries can ONLY become a member if a direct member invites him/her as his/hers special friend (Invited member).  Each direct member can ONLY invite ONE special friend from an other country. This rule is to make sure Scandinavian and Benelux players will dominate our tournaments, but it also opens a possibility of our members to invite a special friend. Membership is UNIQUE, that means: a player can only be member with ONE BBO-name.

 

ALL members must at all times KNOW and RESPECT all Rules of our friendship club: Club Rules, Tournament  and Team Match rules and Bidding Rules. Also promote our friendship club for others in a positive way. To participate in activities that are in conflict with our club,  it’s rules, or the ideas, may not be accepted. Not following our rules can be a reason to exclude a member.

 

Changes in personal info:

Information given in Membership Application have to be complete and correct. Make sure your e-mail address is valid at ANY time. Not valid e-mail address will first lead to not-activated membership. If not fixed within reasonable time, membership will be terminated. Membership may also be terminated if given member information is very wrong. If you already are a member, and information that you earlier submitted to the club has changed, then make sure new information is registered.

 

HOW to become a direct member:

To become member of the Skandinavia Benelux Bridgefriend Club Fill in our Registration form COMPLETELY and with CORRECT and VALID information, then send it.  When you fill in membership application, you also agree in our rules and regulations. Check into the rules here at the web-site at least once a month, changes will come now and then, all to make our club a better place to be. Membership requests are processed MANUALLY, so you will NOT get your membership confirmed right away. Normally most membership requests are processed 2 hours before next tournament is scheduled. It is the players responsibility to give correct information, and also notify us when there are changes to given membership information. Membership is valid when the player is able to sign in to one of our tournaments, or showing in the member lists at website. Normally a Welcome – mail will also be sent. If you give incorrect information, or don’t fulfil the requirements of becoming a member, your application may be ignored.

 

HOW to invite a player from ‘other’ country to become member as ‘special friend’:

Each registered member from the Scandinavian and BeNeLux countries are entitled to invite maximum 1 ( one) player from an not Scandinavian/BeNeLux country to become member of our friendship club as his/hers SPECIAL FRIEND. To do this, the following rules are NECESSARY to follow

1)     The existing Scandinavian or BeNeLux member HAVE to notify us by filling in and sending registration form for ‘Inviting a Special Friend’ to let us know he/she wants to invite a player as his hers SPECIAL FRIEND.

2)     When invitation is registered, the invited player must fill in and send the membership registration form. Registration form has to be filled in completely with correct information. Invited player must ALSO write the BBO-name of the player who has invited him/her in the Application Form.

Invited players from other countries have a LIMITED membership. If the member who invited him don’t want him to be his/hers special friend anymore, OR the membership of the member who invited him/her terminates, the membership of the invited player will also be terminated (special circumstances may change on this). Invited player must also follow all rules of our club. Membership is valid when the player is able to sign in to one of our tournaments, or showing in the member lists at website. Normally a Welcome – mail will also be sent. If you give incorrect information, or don’t fulfil the requirements of becoming a member, your application may be ignored.

 

Contact the Club:

If you need to contact the club for ANY reason, you MUST write in ENGLISH to skandinaviabenelux@bridgefriend.com . We do NOT do any translation of emails. All countries involved normally have a Country Contact that can be reached by the members. All SB Staff has an club email address starting with their nick name and ends with @bridgefriend.com. If you try to contact us at BBO, we may NOT be able to answer you due to the high number members that try to contact us, but also that the staff are bridge players and want some privacy now and then. We are all human, and the SB_Staff run the club on spare time for free.
